Canon MP492 Driver
The Canon PIXMA MP492 is a multifunctional, stylish color inkjet printer ideal for home and school usage. While convenient, the high cost of ink makes it unfeasible for large-scale printing projects.
There are a number of well-thought-out additions to the Canon PIXMA MP492. The three media slots are hidden behind a tiny front-hinged door. When the flatbed scanner unit is lifted, the vertical support bar snaps into place to steady it, and a moving illustration of an ink cartridge swap plays on the color LCD. After lifting the compact top cover, you’ll find a 1.8-inch color LCD and control panel with a compass-style navigation wheel and well labeled buttons. Results from performance testing on the Canon PIXMA MP492 were inconsistent. It produced significantly below-average speeds for both text (8.7 ppm) and graphics (2.3 ppm).
Photographs of landscapes and text look excellent, but photos of individuals have strange orange skin tones. The scan is speedy, but the final picture has subdued colors and coarse textures due to the fast frame rate.
